This is one of my favorite weeks of the year. Not only does Thanksgiving occur during this week, but this is my week of service.
This year, because my travels have been slowed by not having The Kindness Bus nearby, I have decided to get involved with a letter writing campaign to our overseas troops, I hope to write hundreds. So many of those who protect our way of freedom are left without contact from the states. I have decided that writing letters of gratitude would be a great way to bring some cheer this Thanksgiving week.
There are a number of resources that send packages overseas and will include handwritten letters in each individual package. One of my favorites iswww.amillionthanks.org I highly recommend that we all take some time out a few times a year to help bring a little cheer into the life of a soldier, thousands of miles from home.
Put an end to Bullying & Adolescent Suicide
In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.
Week of Service
November 25th, 2013Two Thumbs Up
November 19th, 2013
Friends from Sausalito, Pete and Nance, had been considering helping those in need on a one-on-one basis for a year or so, until they laid eyes on The Kindness Bus. The more than subliminal effect was immediate. It set them on a course to help individuals throughout northern California.
I was honored to see that they had recently purchased a VW bus…and they had started painting its exterior!!!
They will be launching a website and I will post it at that time. Great things will come because of this mission and many will be helped.
Thank you Pete and Nance.

Twenty five schools across the country have signed up to take part in having a mindset of kindness for the school year. One of those twenty five, Discover Nature, is a small school program on the grounds of Antler Ridge Wildlife Refuge that I invited to take part in this endeavor.
I visited this wonderful program a couple of summers ago and was impressed at the culture of kindness that pervaded throughout not only at Discover Nature but Antler Ridge as well.
Nicole Rose and Kelly Simonetti of these two organizations are teaching children kindness in their corner of western New Jersey. Nicole Rose sent me a great photo of their kindness pledge proudly displayed for all to see.
Kindness is Prayer
October 28th, 2013Every kind act is prayer in action.
Prayer is…asking for goodness to happen.
A kind act is…working to make goodness happen.
As long as there is kindness in schools…prayer in action is still in schools
Major Milestone
October 23rd, 2013My primary focus lately has been on schools adopting One Million Acts Of Kindness for the school year. It is the cure-all for all that ails.
A school community that is cued in on kindness and respect for one another is one that is an ideal learning environment for academics and core values. It doesn’t get any better than that, I have been told by educators.
Twenty-five schools have “signed up” for kindness as a goal for the school year. Schools scattered across the country, including my grade school alma mater and my hometown elementary school.
This is an incredible honor for me to have this many schools take part.
Thank you one and all.
This is initiative is open for enrollment at any point during the course of the school year. Please contact me for information at thekindnessbustour@gmail.com
One Year Ride Turns Into Six
October 21st, 2013
One year ago today, I began a 9,000 mile ride called Ring Our Country with Kindness (ROCK) The ride is to help put an end to Bullying and Adolescent Suicide. It is amazing to look back on all of the many highlights of the past year. Two of the bigger highlights are, The Kindness Bus deciding it no longer wishes to climb over mountains and the need to continue this ride much longer than the one year I had originally planned.
Big news about The Kindness Bus and it’s replacement will be announced very soon. The one year ride which was my original intent has now been extended to six years.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of the top issues I will address for the remaining 5+ years of The Kindness Bus Tour. My mission has one main objective, to save kid’s lives!

There have been many fundraising stories that have happened during the past couple of weeks. One is summed up in the letter below. It describes the dedication of the Absolute Dance Company competition team.
