An 8 year ride for kids

Put an end to Bullying & Adolescent Suicide

In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.
My mission on this ride has but one focus: To save kids lives.

I am blessed with eight beautiful sisters who have had my back since day one!
I am eternally grateful to say the least. One of my sisters, MJ has put her heart and soul into promoting One Million Acts of Kindness. Today is her retirement day from her regular job. With her caring heart, she says it will now give her more time to promote this mission…I told you I am blessed.

A Month Has Now Turned Into a Year

December 14th, 2013

12-14-13I wrote the following blog eleven months ago in order to inspire others…hopefully many of you have acted upon its message

It is hard to believe that a month has passed since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. So much time and energy has been put into covering this story. City, state and federal branches of government have, and will work, to draft legislation to protect children. Countless groups, schools, churches and individuals have done amazing charitable acts of kindness to comfort, directly or indirectly, for others since that tragic day.
All of us should use an event like this to comfort those in need, especially the youngest in our society. Don’t wait another moment, for months, turn into years.

Incredible Generosity

Thanksgiving Weekend

December 1st, 2013

12-1-13 copyWhat a fun time of year. Families getting together, meals of hours of planning and preparation, shopping and volunteering.
This Thanksgiving day I decided to help with volunteering at a local shelter. Donna, who heads this shelter said they had one position left when I arrived early in the morning. While the lion share of volunteers cooked and served several hundred meals, I was put in charge of drive-up donations. Wow! I was quickly reminded of the generosity of individuals. I took in $2,770 in donations to help feed, house and clothe those in need.
I hope all of you had an incredible weekend.
