An 8 year ride for kids

Put an end to Bullying & Adolescent Suicide

In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.
My mission on this ride has but one focus: To save kids lives.

Networking with Hodges University

March 12th, 2014

3-12-14

Naples resident, Stacey Healy has begun promoting One Million Acts of Kindness throughout the Collier County region. Her tie to the local schools will be a big plus in keeping kindness on the “front burner.”
Today we stopped at Hodges University for a meeting with Student Development Coordinator, Judie Fox and Ambassador Chairperson, AJ Fielding. Great things could be in store for an annual event on this campus. Stay tuned for updates.

Bogart’s Finishing Touch

March 9th, 2014

3-9-14

One of the favorite panels on the Kindness Bus is the “Rescue Dog on Board” message. Blue Bird will have one panel on each side with this message. Bogart was all too eager to make his mark on both the panels. He loved the fact he had an audience watch him and that he got a huge treat after creating his masterpiece. Blue Bird now officially looks like home.

Let’s Have a Painting Party!

March 6th, 2014

3-6-14

It is always nice to have several helping hands when it comes time to paint Blue Bird, especially when two of them are artists. I am nearing the end of the main parts of Blue Bird being completed. It has been a long two months of painting, but well worth the time spent to make this new addition look almost like the old. Thank you to one and all.

Spring Into Kindness

March 3rd, 2014

3-3-14

The 3rd annual “Spring into Kindness” day, is the brainchild of Hope Chase from Santa Monica, California. On Thursday, March 20th, the first day of spring this year, you are asked to surprise someone with an act of kindness.

It’s that simple. Go ahead! “Spring into Kindness.”

Troop by Troop Grass Roots Effort

March 1st, 2014

3-1-14

Girl Scout troops across the country are loving our fun patches for their uniforms.
If you are part of a Girl Scout troop, please contact me about earning a One Million Acts of Kindness patch.
On the One Million Acts of Kindness website is a box that says Kindness Certificate, any Girl Scout who agrees to have a mindset of kindness as a goal in her life, then prints one of the certificates with her name on it, frames it and hangs it on her wall in her bedroom gets a patch. The certificate is free. We do ask that a parent make a donation of any amount to cover the cost of the patch and mailing.
We ask that the other girls and troop leaders are made aware of this program so they would choose to do the same. We are trying to grow this grassroots effort across the country.
Thank you for your continued interest.
Kindness always,
Bob Votruba and Bogart too!!

P.S. We hope that the girl moves this certificate with her as she moves from home to home throughout her lifetime, serving as a reminder that she has embraced kindness as a core value in her life, bringing only goodness to others as she travels her beautiful journey in life.
This is our wish for all the children of the world, your daughter included.

Neighborhood Party

February 24th, 2014

2-24-14

Everyone loves a party, Bogart and me included. With Blue Bird almost ready for “prime time,” with it’s freshly painted exterior, I accepted an invitation from Stacey Healy-Dooney to attend this wonderful get together. Nearly a couple dozen children and their parents came by to share in learning of One Million Acts of Kindness.
Bogart was in his glory, playing with all of the children and even taking time to help put his paw prints on the “Rescue Dog on Board” window.
Thank you to everyone for making this day a great success.

A Huge Helping Hand

February 22nd, 2014

2-22-14

One Million Acts of Kindness has many supporters and followers across the world. Many of them help in one way or another to lend a hand. All of them offer words of encouragement.
One of my biggest supporters is Laura Pacter of Naples, Florida. She has been a major force in promoting my mission in southwest Florida, even convincing the Collier County Commissioners to proclaim January 14th as Kindness Awareness Day. This is a huge honor to say the least!
Laura even joined me one day to help paint Blue Bird. Thank you Laura, for all of your dedication and hard work.
