I love swinging through northeast Ohio and checking in with family and friends. Three generations of the Blake family couldn’t have looked any better sporting their new One Million Acts of Kindness apparel.

One of my favorite stops across this great country is a wildlife refuge in New Jersey. Kelly Simonetti who founded this safe haven for a cornucopia of recuperating creatures gives these beautiful animals a second chance at life through the loving hands of Dr. Karen and an army of volunteers. This place always puts a huge smile on my face. From Bogart meeting Sara Lee the pig to reading the words of one of my new books “Bogart Makes Breakfast in Bed for Himself” to the children of Discover Nature, I will carry these fond memories and many more for years to come.

Thank you to the Service Learning class at Aurora High School in Ohio for inviting me to their classroom today. Led by teacher, Mike Rubin, these students on day eight of their school year are well on their way to learning about the direct impact their actions have upon the world.
A big thanks to Erin and Rachel for taking the time during their holiday weekend for helping to make my visit a reality…bonus points!!
If you are a parent, teacher, principal or administrator, please contact me about having your school sign up for the One Million Acts of Kindness initiative. Your school can sign up at any point during the school year. Individual classrooms can sign up as well.

Most of my children’s friends know me as Uncle Bob. It is so enjoyable to cross paths with them as I travel the United States. They have grown into caring young adults. Melanie, pictured in today’s blog is a friend to all three of my children. She paid me a wonderful compliment. It is the title of this blog.

With summer winding down, it was an honor to take my nephew, Mason to a Cleveland Indians baseball game. Usually soft spoken and quiet, he was a chatterbox, wanting to know an assortment of everything. We even had a talk about drugs and the importance of being a role model to all the kids in his school and neighborhood by never using drugs and recommending to his friends the same ideals.
