An 8 year ride for kids

Put an end to Bullying & Adolescent Suicide

In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.
My mission on this ride has but one focus: To save kids lives.

End of a Big Week

Bogart’s 7th birthday week of celebration came to an end today.
He is one spoiled pooch and deservedly so, he helps those in need of a smile and is a service animal extraordinaire!
Thank you to everyone who offered birthday wishes.

OUCH!

The Global Kindness Tour will be slowed down over the next week or so due to a very nasty retina detachment.
All is well.

Small World

As I rode the Kindness Bicycle I received an ovation from a man I approached in NYC. Neither of us realized who the other was. Friends, David Stein and his wife Gail who is the Director at University School lower campus in Shaker Heights, Ohio were as thrilled as I to see one another. A message of kindness is part of the culture at this wonderful school

“Dad, Don’t Make Me Wait Any Longer.”

Bogart’s 7th birthday was September 12th, but we celebrate it for a week. When you are a special dog like Bogart, there is no other way.
Bogart looks like he is ready to dive into this birthday cupcake, but in fact, it is a squeaky toy. He had a huge birthday treat on his actual birthday.
Happy birthday Bogart!

FDNY Ten House

9-12-14

Yesterday I rode throughout lower Manhattan as an honor ride to pay my respects but also to ride to raise awareness about kindness, compassion, respect and gratitude. Crowds of people still come out to pay their respects and remember those lost on that day, thirteen years ago.
Engine 10 and Ladder 10 were on the street as were firefighters who traveled from across the world to be here on this day.
We shall never forget!

The World Could Sure Use It Right About Now

9/11, thirteen years later, and some people still choose to hate others.
As I rode along the East River today, I made a plan to ride in lower Manhattan all day tomorrow.
I’m hoping the signs on the Kindness Bicycle have an impact on those who could choose to show kindness, respect, compassion and love to others…the world could sure use it about right now!

Discover Nature

September 8th, 2014

On the grounds of Antler Ridge Wildlife Refuge is a small schoolhouse. A course in learning about nature is taught to area children by Nicole Rose, the founder of Discover Nature.
There is a big tie to kindness at these two facilities. I love returning every chance I can.
