In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.

Deeply touched by Memorial Day earlier this week, and the lives lost in all wars, I am giving serious consideration to honoring all veterans living and deceased. I am planning a month-long bicycle ride to honor veterans when I am in Florida this coming winter. Details to come.

With a need for some time off, I got together with a few friends to catch up on their lives and my life, over a game of Indians baseball. Of course everyone wanted to know about my travels

One of my favorites stops along my travels is being in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, for their annual Blossom Time parade. Each year over 65,000 parade attendees are a captive audience for the Kindness Bicycle. The high-fives from children and the thousands of ovations from the adults let me know that I am on the right track for riding against the bullying of children.

Every year I am invited to the end of the school year party at Mayfield High School Tech. All of the hard work of the students is showcased for parents, school administrators and friends to see. It is a wonderful way to support these proud students.
This year I got to spend time talking with Joe Hayes, Guidance Counselor Excel TECC, Dominic Favazzo, Guidance Department Chair of Orange Schools and Rick Nowak, Solon High School Guidance Counselor. These three men impact the the lives of thousands of students each year. Kindness is certainly high on their list.
Thank you to Rick Zivney and Dave Hrudka for the invite to this year’s event.

This past weekend, I was the guest speaker for the final meeting of the Youth412 group from northeast Ohio. These middle school and high school students get together to celebrate all the goodness they can spread around the world throughout the their lives. Thank you for the invite. It was such a special evening.

I love this festival for the diverse culture that is representative of northeast Ohio. Old, young, black white, catholic, atheist and Jew were all here today. Kindness is a message for everyone. There were even some who seemed to need it more, to heal the hurt in in their hearts.
