An 8 year ride for kids

Put an end to Bullying & Adolescent Suicide

In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.
My mission on this ride has but one focus: To save kids lives.

Scott and Paula are very big supporters and cheerleaders for the mission of One Million Acts of Kindness. This proud couple, quietly go about living their lives in pure goodness, always lending a helping hand to those in need. They are kind, caring Christians.

Brooklyn Kindness

October 2nd, 2015

10-2-15

Traveling from Brooklyn, New York to Florida, Natalie was amazed to see the Kindness Bus in both places. She says that she loves to spread kindness wherever she is. “The Kindness Bus is a reminder to all of us.”

Kindness in Vero Beach

October 1st, 2015

10-1-15

Rodger of Vero Beach is such a giving soul. He and friend Denny always have a spare bedroom and the entire lanai for Bogart. We are welcomed into their home “anytime we are in town.” Denny cooks up incredibly, nutritious meals, problem is I always eat too much. The view out of their home across the mile-wide Indian River is priceless. It is a very hard place to leave.

Kindness Bookends

September 30th, 2015

9-30-15

One of my favorite stops as I travel down the coast of Florida is at friend Mark’s house. He always loves the fact that I stop by and arranges for some friends to visit during my overnight stay. Thank you to Rick and Ramona for making the trip to further learn of my mission. Great stories, great feast and some great donations to help get us a little further down the road.

Semicolon

September 28th, 2015

9-28-15

Nearing the end of September which is National Suicide Prevention month, the following is very fitting.

Project Semicolon, the brainchild of Amy Bleuel, has a simple but profound concept. The semicolon is a pause, not a stop. She hopes the tattoo will “start a conversation that can’t be stopped about mental illness, suicide, addiction, depression and self-injury.”

Get Kids Involved in Sports

September 26th, 2015

9-26-15

I arrived in Vero Beach with the news of two students being caught with loaded guns at the Freshman Learning Center. Thanks to quick acting police, students and administrators, a possible tragedy was averted.
When students are involved in activities such as sports, charitable work and academics, there is much less time for this sort of behavior. Thank you to these lacrosse players from Vero Beach for the interest in One Million Acts of Kindness

Buist Academy

September 24th, 2015

9-24-15

The Buist Academy in Charleston, SC is directly across the street from the Emanuel AME church where 9 parishioners lost their lives to a gunman. When talking to the first graders you help them understand how important it is to help others and never hurt or harm anyone. I always give examples of how it feels good when you help someone. I also use Bogart as an example of how important it is to always be nice to him. The children really connect with that.
