An 8 year ride for kids

Put an end to Bullying & Adolescent Suicide

In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.
My mission on this ride has but one focus: To save kids lives.

I am honored and thrilled that Gulf Coast Charter Academy South in Naples, Florida included us in their yearbook in a very big way. Thank you to all for the memorable visit.

Someone Needs You

One of the most popular panels on the Kindness Bus is the “Someone Needs You” panel. A little over a half a year ago, I created a handout sheet with the same words for people to take to remind themselves how important their lives are. I am seeing an increase in the amount of these handout sheets being taken. If you are having challenges in your life, please realize how important you are to so many people in the world. Someone needs you to be here for them, possibly someone you have yet to meet. If you or anyone you know is having struggles in life beyond control, please don’t hesitate to call the Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1 (800) 273-8255.

It was fate meeting Annie in Northeast, Ohio today. She works on behalf of the first grade students and teachers who lost their lives at Sandy Hook School. The Kindness Bus Tour has visited Sandy Hook/Newtown, Connecticut on several occasions connecting with parents, teachers and local residents. Our free-of-charge programs, meetings and assemblies help to offer comfort to those who still carry hurt in their hearts since December 14, 2012.

Honoring Heroes

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped to place 16,000 US flags at the gravesites of veterans in Holy Cross cemetery today. The first two flags I set were at the graves of Arthur Hagan and Robert Baeslack who fought in World War II and the last one was for my brother-in-law Steve Loya.

Just one of the many great things about being back in Northeast Ohio for a few months is running into family and friends. It was lots of fun running into my cousin Skip.
