One of the many wonderful things about Naples, Florida is the amount of events that take place every weekend. Today’s heart walk brought together hundreds of people to raise awareness for heart disease and stroke. Talk about big hearts!

After 10 long days I am thrilled to be reunited with the Kindness Bus. Joe, the owner of Metcalf’s Mobile Mechanics is just what the Kindness Bus needed, making sure we will keep rolling for years to come.

With the tragedy in New York City, it is impossible for all of us to comprehend.
In looking at all these events, we can become overwhelmed as to what we can do. But it’s just a matter of starting small and building upon it. We can all, as individuals, have a huge impact on the world around us in a very positive way. This One Million Acts Of Kindness initiative was borne out of the Virginia Tech tragedy 10 years ago. It is making a difference in many peoples lives.

One Million Acts of Kindness Week
This annual event begins on the second Monday in February and continues for the week. During this week, groups of people are encouraged to band together and do some sort of community event.

Spring into Kindness Day
This annual event takes place on the first day of spring. On this day, those who participate are asked to surprise someone with an act of kindness. You are asked to challenge yourself to do this act of kindness for someone you normally don’t associate with in your circle of friends. This event is guaranteed to create new friendships.

One Million Acts of Kindness Day
This event always takes place on April 27th. This incredible event challenges you to do as many acts of kindness as you possibly can during the course of this day.

One Million Acts of Kindness Challenge for Schools
For the course of the entire school year, the students, parents, faculty and administrators are asked to do as many kind acts as possible. Make this a fun event for the student body by posting graphs and posters throughout school building. Kindness should always be fun for everyone involved.

One Million Acts of Kindness Challenge for Business
All corporations and businesses, both small and large are encouraged to create a culture of kindness in the business place. This event begins on January 1st and continues through December 31st. All businesses are asked to create a kindness event that is unique to their industry.

Collier County Kindness Awareness Day
This annual event always takes place on January 14th. Schools, businesses and organizations are asked to do something very creative on this day for the benefit of families, individuals and those in need of a helping hand. This event is not limited to Collier County, Florida it just originated in this very caring community.

Bogart and I are excited to be riding in Southwest Florida for the next 50 days to offer compassion and comfort to those with special needs.

Went to the Naples Performing Art Center for a performance of “I’m a Star.” Kids and adults with autism, Down syndrome and other special needs performed their beautiful hearts out for an audience. Broadway Buddies from local schools helped with the performances by volunteering during the past few weeks.

When the barista comes over and says we’d like to get you a drink on the house, you know you are having a good day. They appreciate that the Ring Our Country with Kindness tour is back in Naples.

Bogart and I have arrived back in Naples without the Kindness Bus but have the Kindness Bicycle to finish up this Ring Our Country with Kindness ride for the next eight weeks in Naples, Florida.
