An 8 year ride for kids

Put an end to Bullying & Adolescent Suicide

In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.
My mission on this ride has but one focus: To save kids lives.

One of my favorite people in my five years of travel throughout the United States is Dr. John Stratton, Executive Director of the Ashland Center for Nonviolence. He is a peacemaker of the highest degree, working on helping to end conflict of all forms.
As I headed north through Ohio, Ashland was a must stop for the Global Kindness Tour.
***Happy Birthday today to Patti, a beautiful earthly angel.

Tomorrow is the Big Day

One Million Acts Of Kindness Day is always on April 27th. Challenge yourself to do as many kind acts as possible on this day.
This 4th annual event was founded in Whitney Point, New York. This event has all the makings of growing into a nationwide event, one town at a time.
Please, if you have a way of getting a proclamation to make this happen in your town, let me know. Your town and this country will be a better place because of it.

One of two schools in Yellow Springs, Ohio that has taken the One Million Acts of Kindness challenge for the year is Yellow Springs High School. I spent the day on this campus, giving in classroom presentations and presentations outside by the Blue Bird of Kindness. What a great connection and what a great group of students.
A wonderful article written by Sarah Hawley about One Million Acts of Kindness was in the Athens Messenger. Please take the time to read it.

Chinese People Love Kindness

April 22nd, 2014

Four years ago, a Chinese student who was in this country for a week wrote a wonderful quote on the Kindness Bus: “Kindness will make this world a wonderful place.”
Qiping Lu and Yutai Ma from China stopped by to talk with me about the meaning of One Million Acts of Kindness. I thought it was fitting for Qiping to write the same quote on the Blue Bird of Kindness.

It has been nearly 3 years since visiting this center in Athens, Ohio. A few faces have changed but the work they do is of the highest importance.
Public Relations Robin Webb and Lindsay, an Ohio University student took time to talk with me today.

Easter Dinner

In a very short while, the Kindness Bus will finally be shipped from Petaluma, California to Blacksburg, Virginia. Professor Bryan Katz will use it on the Virginia Tech campus and surrounding Blacksburg area for years to come. I was able to spend time with Bryan, his wife Katie and their family and have Easter dinner in their home.
I knob that the Kindness Bus is going to be put to good use.

Leotie, a Resident Advisor and Cody a student at Virginia Tech stopped by the “Blue Bird of Kindness” to talk about all the good they can do on campus and out in the world. For starters, Leotie is going to spread stack of flyers across campus. Thank you to both of them for the kind words.
