In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.

The Rotary Club of Kew Gardens, near London, gave me the opportunity to speak at their weekly meeting this evening. Being able to wheel the Kindness Bicycle into the room was a big plus. The talk I gave summed up my travels but also addressed the importance of charitable work Rotarians perform throughout the world. From building dams in Africa to running a community market, every member in this Rotary is involved in a charity.
A big tip of the hat to Richard Ward for making this evening a reality.
I love nights such as these.

While riding just west of central London, I came across Poilâne, a wonderful Parisian bakery. Needing to be recharged, I headed for the door. Before I could make it inside, I was met by the manager, Rima, who wanted to know all about the Kindness Bicycle. Taken by the story and with the charitable ethic of Poilâne, I was invited in for a cup of tea and a tour of their bakery.
I was given a to-go bag of punitions, a shortbread cookie that I ate in one sitting…the flavor was incredible.
They also have a restaurant nearby that I will certainly be visiting.
Thank you Poilâne!

When Bogart is your dog, it is easy to be the biggest dog lover in the world. He is such a good dog all the time and always is looking for attention. He is with me 24/7 when I am on the road and being in London without him is hard at times.
One thing is for sure…he is certainly pampered while I am away, as today’s picture attests.

What a wonderful way to spend Father’s Day evening, sharing stories of children with another dad, Richard Ward from the Kew Gardens area of London. Cheers to all the fathers out there!
Thank you to the entire Ward family for the sumptuous Father’s Day repast.

Riding through the Sloane Square area of London, I came across this wonderful café…It made me realize I am never too far from the Blue Bird of Kindness.

All States/JP Ward Trucking in Twinsburg, Ohio has allowed the Blue Bird of Kindness to be parked in their lot while I am away. Nearly 18,000 vehicles per day are driving by the Blue Bird of Kindness. Drivers and occupants being treated to the greatest messages they will ever see…some without even realizing it.
Thank you to everyone at All States/JP Ward Trucking for the huge act of kindness!

I love the Rotary and all it stands for. Businessmen and women coming together to help the community and those in need.
On my ride through Kew, just south of London, I realized my rear tire was going flat. Climbing off the Kindness Bicycle I heard a voice, “Are you part of the Rotary?” Richard Ward belonged to that voice and after a brief conversation I was invited for tea to meet another Rotarian, Dean, who owns the Maids of Honour tea room and Newans Bed & Breakfast.
In the hour or so of sharing stories, I was invited, if need be, to stay in a spare room at both of their homes. This is what members of the Rotary are known for.
