In year 3 of this mission, I introduced a bicycle ride to my travels to raise
awareness about issues kids are having to deal with at far too young an age.
Bullying and Adolescent Suicide are two of these challenging burdens most kids
will unfairly have to overcome throughout the remainder of their lives. At rides
end we will have ridden enough miles to traveled the perimeter of the earth, twice.

A dozen days is all that separates us from “Spring into Kindness Day.”
On this day, you are asked to challenge yourself to surprise someone you normally don’t associate with too often, with an act of kindness.
Go ahead…you just might make a new friend!!

Thank you to Naples residents, Lois Bolin and Jack Izbicki for making it possible to bring the Blue Bird of Kindness to the Fly-in Cruise-in event at the Naples Airport benefitting Lorenzo Walker School. I talked with hundreds of attendees, most of them students. I was very impressed!!
Collier County School Superintendent, Dr. Patton Ph.D was on hand and a guest pancake flipper. I made sure I was able to get a photo with her. She sent a wonderful thank you note two years ago. It has been on display in the bus ever since.

One part of my assembly is when I hold a folded piece of paper and I speak the following poem while unfolding the paper revealing a very large heart.
It starts with one person
The kind acts that you do
When spread to another
It then becomes two
Two becomes four
And four becomes eight
To spread your kindness to others
You never should wait
Being kind to another
When done every day
Will make people happy
It might just be something you say
So only do kind things
For family and friends
And for those you don’t know
Don’t ever let your kindness and
A whole world sharing kindness
We should all do our part
Because it will spread to everyone
When it comes from your heart

Kindness never changes across lifetimes. It is the same across the globe no matter the divide. It is there inside all of us, ready to be called upon if we choose to do so.
I love when kindness is woven through the generations of a family. That is how it should be in every family.

One of my favorite parts of doing what I do is when a friend of One Million Acts of Kindness tells one of their friends about this mission. It is a great way to spread kindness…grassroots viral.
Thank you Sister Claire!

It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to talk with the 600 students and educators at Tommie Barfield Elementary School. We had three large groups of students listen to our programs and we also visited several classrooms to finish out the day. It was great fun! Thank you to everyone.
