Being greeted by a sign that inspires you to “Believe” in yourself is a great way for all students to start their day at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas. This charter school which receives the State of Nevada’s highest honors year after year, helps children in this economically challenged neighborhood with what Andre considers to be the greatest impact in children’s lives, an education. With direction from The Andre Agassi Foundation, I stopped at this school and dropped off some information for Head of school, Mike Piscal. I’m hoping to stop for a quick inspiring talk during my “century” ride on Monday.
Douglas and Sherry, a husband and wife who are Army Veterans, stopped me while on my ride to inspire me with their kind thoughts for my Heroes Ride.
Craig and his wife Rhonda who are both Air Force Veterans and her parents were seated next to me at dinner. Craig has a strong work ethic and spends a lot of time volunteering, flying much needed blood components to doctors performing emergency surgeries. Rhonda is a Wounded Warrior and is competing in an upcoming Iron Girl competition. What a great group to sit next to at dinner and when I went to pay my check, I found out someone took care of it. Thank you Craig.
