Eight years ago today was the shooting of Twinsburg, Ohio K-9 police officer Joshua T. Miktarian. Because of the local connection I have decided to ride every year in his honor no matter where I may be at the time. This year my ride in Southampton, New York addressed his tragic shooting death and that of the five police officers in Dallas, Texas.

Twinsburg K-9 Officer Joshua T. Miktarian
Wednesday, July 13th, 2016Passing the Baton From Parent to Child
Tuesday, July 12th, 2016To me, few things are more important than a parent teaching a child respect for all human life.
When core values, such as kindness, respect, compassion, gratitude and comfort for others are taught to a child at a young age, that child is less apt to lash out in a harmful way in the future.
The baton needs to be passed.
Thank You Law Enforcement
Monday, July 11th, 2016Since introducing the Kindness Bicycle to my travels over five years ago, I have done many rides for police officers across the country. The senseless tragedy of the murder of five police officers in Dallas, Texas prompted me to honor them in some fashion. I have decided to honor these five men by riding in Southampton Village and having local residents sign a custom thank you card I have created. The ride will end on July 13th which is the 8th anniversary of the shooting death of a local K-9 police officer, Josh Miktarian from Twinsburg, Ohio.
One of Those Angels
Sunday, July 10th, 2016I met a wonderful angel today, his name is John. While talking with several groups he appeared as if from nowhere. He loves what I am doing to promote kindness and couldn’t have had more praise.
His main thought was that “It is time for all of us to get back to God through prayer.”
I agree wholeheartedly.
Help From the Locals
Saturday, July 9th, 2016When you come to a new town it is very helpful to have some of the locals offer advice. In Southampton, three of the first individuals I met were Sebastian, Hunter and Paul. These three young men are all over this town with their bicycles and seem to know every inch of the downtown area. They are very helpful in advising me some of the more interesting aspects of their town and where they feel I might have the most success while here.
Rolling By
Friday, July 8th, 2016
I couldn’t ask for a better spot to park during the day while here in Southampton. There is a captive audience every morning and every evening of cars rolling by at a snail’s pace. I, of course, position myself on the Kindness Bicycle across from the bus. What a wonderful town and it’s very kind citizenry.
Southampton Rotary
Thursday, July 7th, 2016I drove from New York City to Southampton, New York to talk with the local Rotary about One Million Acts of Kindness.
This was one fun group of local business leaders. They were also very helpful as well. When I came here, I didn’t know how long I was going to stay because I had no overnight parking. My talk was a great success and after I was offered four overnight spots for the Kindness Bus.
