As I rode the Kindness Bicycle I received an ovation from a man I approached in NYC. Neither of us realized who the other was. Friends, David Stein and his wife Gail who is the Director at University School lower campus in Shaker Heights, Ohio were as thrilled as I to see one another. A message of kindness is part of the culture at this wonderful school

Small World
Tuesday, September 16th, 2014“Dad, Don’t Make Me Wait Any Longer.”
Sunday, September 14th, 2014Bogart’s 7th birthday was September 12th, but we celebrate it for a week. When you are a special dog like Bogart, there is no other way.
Bogart looks like he is ready to dive into this birthday cupcake, but in fact, it is a squeaky toy. He had a huge birthday treat on his actual birthday.
Happy birthday Bogart!
FDNY Ten House
Friday, September 12th, 2014Yesterday I rode throughout lower Manhattan as an honor ride to pay my respects but also to ride to raise awareness about kindness, compassion, respect and gratitude. Crowds of people still come out to pay their respects and remember those lost on that day, thirteen years ago.
Engine 10 and Ladder 10 were on the street as were firefighters who traveled from across the world to be here on this day.
We shall never forget!
The World Could Sure Use It Right About Now
Wednesday, September 10th, 2014Discover Nature
Monday, September 8th, 2014On the grounds of Antler Ridge Wildlife Refuge is a small schoolhouse. A course in learning about nature is taught to area children by Nicole Rose, the founder of Discover Nature.
There is a big tie to kindness at these two facilities. I love returning every chance I can.
Sharply Dressed Family
Saturday, September 6th, 2014I love swinging through northeast Ohio and checking in with family and friends. Three generations of the Blake family couldn’t have looked any better sporting their new One Million Acts of Kindness apparel.
Antler Ridge and Discover Nature
Thursday, September 4th, 2014One of my favorite stops across this great country is a wildlife refuge in New Jersey. Kelly Simonetti who founded this safe haven for a cornucopia of recuperating creatures gives these beautiful animals a second chance at life through the loving hands of Dr. Karen and an army of volunteers. This place always puts a huge smile on my face. From Bogart meeting Sara Lee the pig to reading the words of one of my new books “Bogart Makes Breakfast in Bed for Himself” to the children of Discover Nature, I will carry these fond memories and many more for years to come.
