A week or so ago, I invited young woman to write some words on the Blue Bird of Kindness for the world to see. The beautiful words she shared, are words of comfort for all of us. I love the hope she offers in her last two words.

Twenty Months Ago Today

I wrote the following blog twenty months ago in order to inspire others…hopefully many of you have acted upon its message.

It is hard to believe that a month has passed since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. So much time and energy has been put into covering this story. City, state and federal branches of government have, and will work, to draft legislation to protect children. Countless groups, schools, churches and individuals have done amazing charitable acts of kindness to comfort, directly or indirectly, for others since that tragic day.

All of us should use an event like this to comfort those in need, especially the youngest in our society. Don’t wait another moment, for months, turn into years

Thousands of spectators in Mayfield Heights, Ohio watched as the Blue Bird of Kindness rolled by on this picture-perfect afternoon. Having visited all of the elementary schools in this community, many times, the children in the crowd were excited to see this beautiful bus once again.
With Bogart resting in the comfort of an air conditioned home, dozens of them wondered aloud, “Where’s Bogart!!”
