It’s hard not to love this time of year; the beginning of the unofficial start of summer. The time of year to spend more time with friends, family and neighbors, time to take the indoors, outdoors.
The Chagrin Falls Jaycees tirelessly spend most of the year planning for this weekend event. An event which brings together hundreds of thousands of people from the surrounding communities and beyond (I even had the pleasure to meet a gentleman from England.) The three days of celebration is culminated by a solemn parade on the following day, honoring the brave fallen troops who fought so hard to preserve our precious rights.
I was able to talk with hundreds of parents and children who loved the fact that The Kindness Bus was able to be in their town for the event, for the second year in a row. A tip of the hat to the parking services who allowed my bus to be in a couple of prime parking spots during the course of the event. We received a warm welcome from everyone. Bogart deserves special honors for his over and above the call of duty actions, as ambassador of One Million Acts Of Kindness.
A big thanks to Lorraine, MJ, Collin, Lauren, Mason and our honorary bus driver for the parade, Mike K. for all of their help. What a great way to kick off the start of summer.
